The course is divided into five modules, each focusing on different aspects of communication.Module I, "Basics lay the foundation," serves as an introduction to business communication. Students will learn about the importance of communication in the business world and its role, scope, and purpose. They will also explore the process and classification of communication, understanding how it varies based on relationships, flow, and expression.Module II, "Secrets to Efficient Communication," delves into the characteristics of successful communication, known as the 7 Cs. Students will also examine barriers to effective communication through a case study and engage in Student Activity 1 to apply their knowledge.Module III, "Mastering Oral Communication," focuses on the principles and meaning of oral communication. Students will learn the art of effective listening and presentation skills to enhance their oral communication abilities.Module IV, "Perfecting Written Communication," emphasizes the importance of written communication in a business context. Students will explore the principles of successful writing and engage in various student activities (Student Activity 2 and Student Activity 3) to improve their business writing skills. They will also learn about the 3X3 Writing Process and different types of business messages, including business letters, reports, memos, and emails.Module V, "Actions speak louder: The Non-Verbal Communication," explores the significance of non-verbal communication in business interactions. Students will learn about different types of non-verbal communication, such as kinesics and proxemics, and participate in a comic role play. They will also study other types of non-verbal communication, including chronemics, paralanguage, and haptics.Throughout the course, students will engage in various activities and case studies to apply their knowledge and develop practical communication skills necessary for success in the business world.
