'Brain and Behaviour in Organizations' is an eight-part series that challenges conventional wisdom, drawing on cutting-edge modern brain sciences to reveal how people truly function in organizational settings. This course shifts the paradigm from traditional, performance-driven organizations – which often come at the cost of personal well-being – towards creating 21st-century sustainable organizations where individuals can genuinely "be me" and thrive.Paul Brown, a professor of cognitive neuroscience, will share with us that human beings are not primarily cognitive, but emotionally driven systems, with the brain acting as the master controller of energy and adaptation, constantly assessing the emotional significance of all input. This course will introduce you to the concept of the "Limbic Leader", an authentic individual who understands their own emotional system, fostering profound trust – the most fundamental property of human interaction – and inspiring others to willingly apply their energy and creativity.We critically examine the limitations of traditional organisational concepts, such as the competitive "team," and explore the profound implications of biological differences, particularly between male and female brains.
