Build a 3D WebGL project using jаvascript, shaders, matrices, loops, cubies, layers, and 3x3x3 structure.

What you'll learn

⚡ Construct a 3D cube in WebGL using vertices, buffers, shaders, colors, and draw calls.
⚡ Apply scaling, translation, and rotation matrices to control 3D objects in WebGL.
⚡ Break one cube into a 3x3 front layer and explain how x, y, and z positions form cubies.
⚡ Build and rotate a full 3x3x3 Rubik's Cube structure by reusing one cube with loops and model matrices.

Requirements

❗ Basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, and jаvascript is recommended.
❗ Learners should already understand how to run a simple WebGL project in a browser.
❗ A code editor such as Visual Studio Code and a modern browser such as Chrome are needed.
❗ Basic understanding of arrays, functions, loops, and variables in jаvascript will be helpful.
❗ No advanced mathematics is required. Matrix transformations are explained step by step in a beginner-friendly way.

Description

In this course, you will learn how to take a simple WebGL cube and gradually turn it into a Rubik's Cube structure.
This is a project-based WebGL course designed for learners who already understand the basics of drawing a cube and now want to build something more interesting, visual, and practical.
We begin by reviewing how a basic 3D cube is created using vertices, colors, buffers, shaders, and draw calls. From there, we improve the cube by adding rotation so that we can clearly see its 3D shape.
After that, we start transforming the cube into a small cubie. You will learn how scaling makes the cube smaller, how translation moves it into position, and how loops allow us to reuse the same cube multiple times.
Step by step, we build the Rubik's Cube structure
First, we break the front layer into a 3x3 grid of cubies.
Then, we explain how x and y positions control the rows and columns.
Next, we add the z direction to create front, middle, and back layers.
Finally, we rotate the full 3x3x3 structure so students can clearly see the complete 3D object.
The goal of this course is not only to copy code. The goal is to understand how WebGL uses model matrices, loops, scaling, translation, and rotation to build larger 3D structures from one reusable object.
By the end of the course, you will have built a rotating 3D Rubik's Cube structure in WebGL and gained a stronger understanding of how 3D objects can be constructed programmatically.
This course is ideal for beginner WebGL learners, computer graphics students, and jаvascript developers who want to improve their understanding of 3D graphics through a clear practical project.

Who this course is for
