Film Photography Exposure, Metering & Key Skills

In this class, we will start by discussingfilm chemistrybriefly so we know what actually happens when light hits the film and how we are able to turn a chemical reaction into a beautiful image.
We will then explorethree key variablesthat affect your image and their relationship with each other – this should give you a good foundation to feel confident in your ability to use these variables to get the image you want.
After this we are ready to talk about
meteringi.e., how to identify what settings you need to use to take a well exposed image,some tips onfocusing manuallyand understandingmarkings on your lenses,and someadvanced methodsyou can use to manipulate your final results.
There are three sections:
Section 1 – Film chemistry & ExposureSection 2 – MeteringSection 3 – Manual focusing, Long Exposures & Bracketing
At the end of each section there'll be amini exercisethat you can work on before moving on to the next section – this way you can be confident in your understanding before tackling further skills and techniques.
